Description
Participants will practice basic Linux administration including choosing a distribution, installation, command line interface, shell operations, file management and permissions as well as managing packages and processes. Participants will be prepared to write the Linux Professional Institute (LPI) Linux Essentials Professional Development Certificate Exam.
Prerequisite: Linux OS Essentials I
Learning Outcomes
At the end of this course the participant will be able to:
- Understand the basics of the concept of scripting;
- Understand the components of desktop and server computers;
- Understand where data is stored on a Linux system;
- Query vital network settings for a Linux computer on a Local Area Network;
- Understand various types of users on a Linux system;
- Create users and groups on a Linux system;
- Manage Linux file permissions and ownership;
- Use special Linux directories and files.
