Business Case: Artificial Intelligence in the Public Sector

Event Overview

Join the uOttawa Professional Development Institute on September 10th to explore the use of artificial intelligence in the public sector. This interactive webinar will present a case study showcasing both the failures and successes of using AI to support business decision-makers. Participants will explore AI from multiple angles, gaining insights into its importance, practical applications, and unique characteristics in both business and information technology contexts.

The case study examines two use cases with a shared goal: optimizing funding distribution across geographic locations to maximize the impact of supporting regional economic development. Both cases were executed successfully. However, efforts to integrate and expand the project faced significant challenges with data sharing. This study is valuable as it illustrates both successes and challenges. At this early stage of AI implementation, such experiences are quite common.

This webinar also serves as a primer to the upcoming course titled AI: A Practical Introduction for Business Decision-Makers.
