Description

From vaccines to climate change, effective science communication is more important now than ever.

Science communication is the sharing of scientific information to a non-expert audience. However, it is difficult to get this right; complicated scientific research can seem boring, confusing, and even frustrating to those outside the field. To add to the complexity, different audiences require tailored communication approaches to reach them most effectively. Unfortunately, science communication failures are everywhere, and they can have serious consequences.

In this course, you will learn the fundamentals of science communication so that you can share science in an engaging and persuasive way. Whether you are a scientist looking for ways to share your work or are a budding science communication professional, this course will give you the baseline you need to get started.

Learning Outcomes

At the end of this course the participant will be able to:
  • Use storytelling principles to captivate audiences;
