While AI can enhance speed and access to information, leaders are also beginning to observe new patterns in the workplace greater reliance on AI-generated outputs, reduced critical evaluation, less cognitive effort in routine tasks, and more standardized responses. These shifts raise important questions about judgment, ownership, engagement, and the long-term development of human capabilities at work.

Complementary to more traditional approaches to critical thinking, this workshop focuses specifically on how the growing use of AI may influence cognitive habits and decision-making behaviours in professional environments.

Designed for leaders and decision makers, the course explores a critical leadership question: How can organizations leverage AI while preserving the human thinking, judgment, creativity, and engagement that drive strong performance and sound decision-making?

Through guided discussion, practical reflection, and workplace examples, participants will examine how over-reliance on AI can develop in everyday work practices and decision-making processes. The course will explore the risks associated with cognitive offloading, reduced critical engagement, and increased dependence on AI-generated outputs while considering the potential impact on judgment, ownership, and decision quality within teams and organizations.
