Plurilingual Curriculum Design
In this workshop, we explore plurilingual curriculum and the competencies to help learners develop, learn how to incorporate plurilingualism into an existing curriculum, and apply knowledge gained in the workshop to our teaching by discussing:
1) major concepts in plurilingualism
2) plurilingual approaches to language curriculum, and
3) the integration of plurilingualism into an existing curriculum.
Educators who teach English (or other languages) as a second language and are interested in developing a better understanding of basic concepts in plurilingualism and plurilingual language curriculum.
Educators who work with English language learners and are interested in promoting linguistic diversity and
whole language development by incorporating plurilingual pedagogies into their language curriculum.
To develop an understanding of basic concepts in plurilingualism and ims of plurilingual education;
To develop familiarity with the aims of plurilingual education;
To examine the characteristics of a plurilingual and intercultural curriculum; and
To discover how plurilingual pedagogies can be integrated into an existing language curriculum.
TESOL AND SECOND LANGUAGE EDUCATORS

Dr. Reza Farzi is an APTPUO professor at the Faculties of ARTS and Education. He has many years of ESL/EFL teaching experience both in Canada and abroad. He also works as Curriculum Coordinator at the Official Languages and Bilingualism Institute of the University of Ottawa. His current research and academic interests include pre- and in-service language teacher education, data-driven curriculum development for ESL and EAP programs, the application of technology in education. Most recently his work has been published in a practical resource book on Language Teacher Education for Global Englishes by Routledge.
