Where do the workshops take place?

The exact location and schedule are in your registration confirmation. Most workshops take place on the University of Ottawa campus or in its immediate vicinity. See the campus map.

What are your business hours?

From September to May, we are open 8:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m., Monday to Friday. From June to August, we are open 7:45 a.m. to 4:00 p.m., Monday to Friday.

The workshop I’m interested in is full. What should I do?

Visit our website regularly for registration updates and additional sessions. Also, you can sign up for our newsletter to find out about any new courses or additional sessions we offer.

Do workshop participants have homework?

Some instructors hand out exercises to be completed during class time or at home to help you develop your new skills. These exercises, like other coursework, are not graded.

Are there any workshop prerequisites?

Most of our workshop have no prerequisites. If a workshop has a prerequisite, it is clearly indicated at the top of the workshop page.

What if I can’t attend a workshop?

If you can’t attend a workshop, you may have someone else attend that session in your place at no extra cost. For more information, please read the cancellation policy that applies to your workshop:

What should I bring to the workshop?

Bring writing material: a pen, a pencil, paper, a notepad ... whatever you prefer! For most of our workshops, PDI provides a workbook per participant. Oh yes, and bring a water bottle to refill at our fountain to give a little help to the environment. 

How can I get to my workshop?

Public transportation

The Desmarais building is stituated close to two OC Transpo O-Train stations.

uOttawa Station is on campus, a few minutes walk from the Desmarais building while Rideau Station is also a short walk and conveniently located near shops and the Byward Market.  See the OC Transpo site at www.octranspo.com for more details. 

 

Cycling

Cycling is one of the best ways to commute to and from the University of Ottawa. View this cycling map for Ottawa-Gatineau to find the best path to get to your course. Once you arrive on campus, the University provides bike racks throughout the campus, which you can find on the campus bike parking map. See more on uOttawa bike parking.

 

Personal vehicle — paid parking

There are a number of paid parking options near our course locations. If your course is held at the Desmarais Building, you may park at the Brooks Garage ($5.50/hour with $17.50/day), the Rideau Centre garage ($20/day) or the Desmarais Building underground parking ($5.50/hour, no maximum from 6 a.m. to 3 p.m., $9 maximum weekdays after 3 p.m. and weekends).

 

Is there anything else I need to know about my training session?

  • Light refreshments are available in our lounge. 
  • If you suffer from severe allergies, please let us know ahead of your workshops so that we may take the necessary precautions. 
  • Full day courses include a one-hour lunch break along with morning and afternoon breaks.
  • Lunch is not provided unless otherwise mentioned.
