This is a business oriented five (5) day course for future Enterprise Architecture practitioners, managers and directors focusing on a benefit driven approach to Digital Transformation using EA in Government and business. It covers several EA Frameworks, focusing on the TOGAF ® standard.
It illustrates the key deliverables in the context of Canadian government standards, policies, and directives (e.g. Digital Ops Plan, EA Framework and Architecture, Policy and Directive on Service and Digital, EA Review Board, BTEP, FAP, GSRM and Capability-Based Planning). Selected provincial and municipal Digital / EA frameworks and implementations will also be discussed. The course will also address the integration of EA with Business Planning, Governance, Portfolio Management (i.e. PMBOK, PRINCE2), Systems Development (i.e. DevOps, SDLC), Operations Management (e.g. ITIL/IT4IT) and Agile Methods and the fit with Canadian governments digital organization (e.g. Shared Services, PSPC, SNB).
The course will prepare individuals to conduct/manage EA in Canadian governments and business. The course format will be a series of formal lectures illustrated with national and global best practices and case studies. The course includes exam vouchers and tutorial guides for Level 1/2 exams.

Robert Weisman PhD, PEng, PMP, CD has more than 25 years as an Enterprise Architect practitioner and executive globally. Since 2004 Robert has been active in The Open Group and received a major contribution award for his work on TOGAF® Version 9. Locally he is president of the Association of Enterprise Architects (AEA) Ottawa and ISACA Ottawa. In 2019 he finished his PhD in Digital Transformation and Innovation from UOttawa where he created and teaches the EA curriculum in both French and English.
