Clear, Concise Writing II

This is a successor course to "Clear, Concise Writing".

Over 12 online hours, students will hone their clear writing skills for different types of communications, including briefing notes, e-mails, memos, speechwriting and public relations.

The first 6 hours are devoted to advanced principles for clear communication, while the second 6 hours include an advanced writing exercise (under a simulated tight deadline) with structured feedback from peers and the instructor.

David Pratt is an experienced ESL instructor and language curriculum developer. He has worked with students from all over the world, both in Canada and abroad. His current students include public servants, diplomats, academics, and university students in the capital region. Previous teaching experience includes positions at the University of Waterloo, the University of Science and Technology, Beijing, and the Language Institute at Algonquin College. David is currently a professor at the University of Ottawa’s Official Languages and Bilingualism Institute where he regularly works with Francophone professors and researchers on their English pronunciation.
