Antidote in English: Getting the Most Out of It
Updated for Antidote 10!
Did you know that a new version of Antidote was launched in November 2018? In addition to its previous features, this fully integrated language suite now offers translations for words, expressions, idioms, proverbs, and combinations into French. The Antidote 10 spell-, grammar-, and punctuation checker comes with a gender-neutrality filter and 5 built-in readability indices, one of which was designed specifically for the Canadian writing environment.
Antidote 10’s multi-license version will only be available in the spring of 2019, but this workshop will give you a head start by letting you take a look at Antidote 10 before the multi-license version is released!
In this workshop, you will get familiar with the most useful features of Antidote through guided individual hands-on computer-based activities. You will learn to fully exploit its dictionaries–combinations, synonyms, definitions, difficulties, phonetics, and more–, and take a look at the wealth of information contained in its ten guides, that cover style, business writing, lexicon, grammar, etc. You will explore its writing and correction features, which examine not only spelling, grammar and punctuation, but also typography, style and tone. And you will learn to create personal dictionaries, to roam the semantic field of words, and to use Antidote as a learning tool.
But there is more. You will also discover the new features of Antidote 10 and try them out through an interactive group-led demo facilitated by the instructor. When Antidote 10 comes to your office, you will be ready!
Bring along a USB key with a 500-word text to work on, and learn to fully exploit Antidote, in whatever version you use. You will finally understand what makes Antidote such a powerful tool.
