Project Procurement Management

Overview

12 PDUs

Procuring complex goods and services is a necessary facet of most projects. Some projects are even effectively entirely outsourced.  The more complex and high-value the project, the greater the likelihood of a firm dependence on procured support. Project managers who implement and manage such projects are expected to be proficient in procurement. This workshop will guide participants in how to manage project procurement over the phases of the project procurement life cycle, including planning, implementation, administration, monitoring, and close-out.

This workshop provides participants with the knowledge and practical skills needed to procure complex goods and services in support of the accomplishment of the project objectives.

We will examine helpful tools, techniques, and best practices for project procurement. Participants will improve their ability to implement contracts and manage contractors and consultants.

This course can provide up to 12 PDUs / contact hours towards attaining or maintaining the Project Management Professional (PMP)® designation. Participants must submit the request to PMI via the Continuing Certification Requirements System (CCRS).

Professional Development Units are allocated according to the number of training hours completed by the student and may be granted by increments of 0.25 PDU for each 15 minutes of training. A participation certificate will be given to students who attend a minimum of 75% of the course.
