Women at Work: Positioning Your Career for Success

Overview

Career success starts with a plan. Why? Without a plan, we just react. Step one begins with career management and taking ownership of your personal career plan; step two requires identification and clarification of the goals necessary to activate and achieve that plan. Goals turn plans into action. Once you’ve determined your career path, follow-up with a corresponding skills-development plan. This course is focused on supporting your skills development. It will explore the body language of power and the ways in which it influences how others see you. Women can find success in knowing when and how to use different power styles. Participants will learn how to give and receive actionable feedback and advice in challenging situations. Dyads will discuss various patterns of gender bias and reflect on a number of strategies to overcome workplace bias.
