Description

In this age of multi-tasking, you might be expected to chair meetings. The meetings could be with internal colleagues or with external partners/stakeholders. The meetings could be small or large. Regardless of the size of the group or the nature of those present, the meetings need to go well and yield results. If you chair without confidence in or knowledge about what you are doing, the meetings probably do not go as well as they could. Getting agreements and ending the meeting on time are but two of your tasks. Many other skills are also needed. Through discussions, tasks, self-assessments and tips, participants will learn how to become effective and skilled as a chairperson.

Learning Outcomes

At the end of this course, participants will be able to:
  • Describe the characteristics of effective chairpersons
